Cause Baby Vomiting After Drinking Breast Milk And How To Overcome It - Baby vomiting after drinking milk (breast milk) can happen anytime. In fact, some babies experience it almost every time they finish breastfeeding. However, it is important to recognize signs and symptoms of vomiting after drinking milk to watch.
Babies who often vomit after drinking milk with normal growth, no fuss or no respiratory problems, are still normal and do not require special treatment.
This is due to breast milk or milk that the baby swallows, back into the esophagus or the so-called reflux, due to muscle disorders between the esophagus and the baby's stomach. The baby may experience reflux because the size of the stomach is so small that it is easily filled. Reflux also occurs because the valves in the esophagus are immature to work optimally.
However, there are also causes of babies vomiting after drinking milk due to infection of the stomach, such as gastroenteritis. Only, generally, this condition is accompanied by diarrhea in infants. In addition, babies vomiting after drinking milk may also be caused by food allergies, colds, ear infections, and others.
Some other symptoms to watch out for when the baby vomits after drinking milk such as fever, refusing suckling, rash, difficulty sleeping, prominent crown or abdominal swelling, shortness of breath, appearing blood or green fluid at vomiting, or continuous vomiting more from 12 hours or vomiting strong.
Beware also when a baby vomits after drinking milk followed by signs of dehydration in infants such as dry lips, crying without tears, sunken crown, and rarely urinate.
If you are worried when the baby vomits after drinking milk, consult your doctor immediately. Note how many times or how much vomiting in the baby and other symptoms the baby has experienced proper treatment.

Tips to Reduce Vomiting
Here are some ways you can do to reduce baby vomiting after drinking milk:- Strive for an upright baby's head while nursing. Then lift the baby upright after suckling so baby burp.
- Let the baby suck in a calm state. This will prevent the baby from sucking too much air with the milk.
- Get used to babies suckle sufficiently, but more often. Breastfeeding too much can make the baby's belly too full, causing the baby to vomit after drinking milk.
- Make a baby burp every time you run out of breastfeeding. Let the baby burp first before changing breasts.
- Make sure the clothes or baby diapers are not too tight. Also, avoid holding a baby to belch with the baby's stomach position right on your shoulder.
- Avoid wiggling baby or making baby active immediately after suckling. Also should not travel by vehicle shortly after the baby suckles.
- If the baby is large enough, position the baby in a sitting condition about 30 minutes after suckling.
- Allow the baby's head to be rather high during sleep. You can use a rolled-up blanket or towel, but make sure it is not easily removed until the baby's head falls. Should avoid using a pillow on the baby.
- Examine the possibility of baby vomiting after drinking milk due to food or beverages consumed by the mother, such as cow's milk.
